• Reading the forum gave me the inspiration/push that I needed to just get started on Lesson 1.  It also helped me to feel that I am not alone in this.  Thank you for that :)
  • The timing of this lesson was no less than Providential!  We are about to start 'formal' school lessons up again.  Over the past few years I've been trying to incorporate more 'real life' lessons and put less emphasis on the 'bookwork'. I like to start with 1 or 2 subjects and add every few days until we have included all of the subjects that we desire.  This year, instead of starting with the bookwork and adding the homemaking skills(usually they are put off indefinitely due to time constraints and poor planning), I had decided that we would start with the homemaking skills and add the bookwork over the next couple of weeks.  Last night, I was thinking that we would go over the girls' bathroom(it is also the guest
bathroom) from top to bottom.  Cleaning, organizing, and putting the finishing touches on decorating, and then setting up a plan for them to keep it cleaned and organized.  Then we would move onto the
kitchen in a week or two. This morning, I woke and started thinking about the day and decided that we would start with the kitchen.  We would see that all of the dishes were washed and put away and put a plan in place for the dishes to be kept clean and put away on a daily basis.  Then we would start with the deep cleaning and organizing of the kitchen, including the pantry.  I hadn't figured out how we would go about that, but figured the girls and I would talk about it and figure something out.  When the kitchen was finished, then we would start menu planning and see that we had a system to keep that running. I got my breakfast, turned on the computer and.....the Kitchen Sparkle! lesson was there.  Now the how of cleaning and organizing the kitchen is there!!!  I was thrilled!  My girls are...well...not thrilled, but supportive at least. lol  I can't wait to get started! We might have to spread some of the days out to fit the rest of our schedule, but it looks great and will take care of much of the planning for me!  Again, thank you, thank you, HMM ladies for these lessons! Ready to roll, ~ L. and girls in CO
  • Well, let me tell you how my husband reacted: First of all he works at home and was wondering what I was up to. I took everything out and put stuff in the hall way. And DH decided to help me! We took the bed apart and cleaned underneath and all the furniture. He helped me take down the curtains, I washed and ironed them. I cleaned the fan and washed all the doors with Murphy's Oil, (never used the stuff before) while he kept cleaning all the dust away, I even washed my rug! We were working together and we both kept saying this will be nice. After all the dust was gone and cleaned away, DH went back to work. I cleaned the bathroom, changed all the light bulbs put a candle in there. Oh, I also put a small CD player of my daughters she didn't use in my bedroom and put on some soft music. I haven't done that before. I redecorated put clean sheets on; curtains are all clean and crisp and, I put a vase in my room with a fresh rose from my garden also added a plant on my husband's dresser. Everything is so nice and clean and relaxing.  We sat in our room the rest of the night and read and listened to music, while discussing a new color on our Master Bedroom! One more funny and glorious thing, I forgot to change our alarms clocks and this morning we slept in our new cozy bedroom.
  • I am just so excited about all the lessons, you are really helping me.  As my grandmother was my mentor, but God called her home about 15 years ago, so I have been a little lost.    Thanks for being so understanding with me.  May God bless you & your ministrys.  There is such a need. ~ S.D.
  • How exciting this journey has been so far!!!  Thank you so much for all your hard work and time dedicated to this on top of everything else you do!!!  You truly amaze me! Blessings! ~ C.E.
  • Mrs. Greene,  I just wanted to let you know that the laundry lesson has been my favorite thus far.  It is full of just the kind of practical tips I feel the most need for.  Thank you so much. ~ L.B.
  • Could you please tell me how to cancel my account with you?  I have greatly enjoyed the lessons but we have come to a financial time in our lives where even the $4.95 a month is more than we can pay.  Please know that I believe your service is worth 10 times that amount and I have loved getting the lessons!  I have learned so much!  Who knew we liked beans?  My 7 year old daughter and I just finished adding some lace to a pair of handmade pillowcases - I never knew how to do that before!  Thank you so much for the lessons I have received and I sincerely hope to be able to return as a member soon. Thank you! ~ H.R. in Oregon
  • Being in the Homemakers Mentor group, has been such a changing experience for me. I love trying the new recipes, I'm making the Lima Bean Casserole, with Martha's chicken recipe tonight for dinner,
I'm hanging my clothes out with my new freebreeze and vineger, my kitchen is so squeaky clean. I'm even finding time for my back garden. I made apple butter this summer and plum and strawberry jams. Thank you everybody!
